Ambeno Customs Officers Manipulate Photos of Chicken Trader

The chicken trader Octoviano Elo was standing in the port of Iwao Kitahara, Mahata Oe-Kusi Ambeno, but Customs officers falsified this photo that the photo was taken in Atambua, Indonesia. Supply photos.

Oekusipost.com Dili – Several photos of Octoviano Elo chicken traders accessed by Oe-Kusi Post verified that the photos were actually taken at the port of Iwao Kitahara, Mahata Oe-Kusi Ambeno, not in Atambua (Indonesia) as it was engineered by customs officials who carry out their duties in Oe-Kusi Ambeno.

Chicken trader Octoviano Elo tells the true chronology that, before they sailed from the port of Mahata to Dili, a Customs officer was there offering to buy one chicken for $ 20.00 and even wanted to buy all 125 chickens. , but he didn't want to because all the chickens were bought at a price of $ 40.00 to $ 50.00. The customs officer kept forcing to buy all the chickens. A few minutes later, the Customs officer offered an additional price of $ 35.00, but Octoviano still refused to accept the additional money because he was not profitable.

Customs officers continued to force until finally Octoviano was also forced to sell his chickens at a price of $ 35.00 despite having to incur a loss of $ 5.00.

"When he handed me the money, I put it in my pocket, he told me to hold a chicken so I could take a picture of you so that when you come back I would get to know you and buy another rooster," Octoviano told the real story to the Oe-Kusi Post at Quarantine Comoros, Dili Wednesday 4 Marsu 2020.

Meanwhile, some of the information accessed by Oe-Kusi Post is that the Customs officer, after taking a photo of Octoviano Elo, immediately sent it via WhatsApp to the Customs officer at the national level to hold all the roosters when the traders arrived at the port of Dili, because he convince the Dili Customs officer with a photo engineered that he took it in Atambua, Indonesia.

The National Customs officials also obeyed and believed all the engineering made by the Oe-Kusi Ambeno Customs officer without verifying the truth of the photo. The Dili Customs officers were already on the edge of the ferry gate to hold all the roosters the traders had brought for sale to survive.

"When we arrived the next day at the port of Dili, I came out of the ship with 4 chickens, the Customs officers called and showed me a photo and said, is this your photo? I answered yes this is my photo. Then they asked again, did you take this photo in Atambua? I said no, this photo was taken yesterday by one person at the port of Oe-Kusi Ambeno when we wanted to sail to Dili, "Octoviano explained in more detail.

In connection with the case of detention, a private lawyer, Octavio Cardoso considers that this incident was a very fatal mistake from the RAEOA Quarantine, because it was they who gave permission to the traders to sell roosters in Dili, but the traders were actually detained by National Customs officer.

Thus, Octavio's lawyer asked RAEOA Quarantine to work seriously so as not to complicate the small traders.

"There was a big mistake committed by the RAEOA Authority against Oecusse residents who were doing small business activities. I consider this as a punishment too, "said Octavio.

He added, nearly 10 days 8 traders from Oe-Kusi were forced to only sleep on the ground. And the Customs authorities are also not responsible for the items that are being held, because the chickens that are being held, then one chicken is immediately lost when brought from Dili Port to the Quarantine.

Evidence of the detention of chickens belonging to traders is also not basic because they lied that all male chickens were purchased from Atambua-Indonesia. Photos sent from Oecusse to the Dili Customs were also taken at Oe-Kusi Ambeno not in Atambua-Indonesia.

Even though the traders from Oe-Kusi Ambeno had been released by the Attorney General's Office on Thursday, March 12, 2020, Octavio's lawyer who was the guiding agent for the 8 traders promised to open a new process to request administrative compensation.

"As a lawyer, by jurisdiction I will process this case, because one male rooster has died and another is missing while being held by the Customs Office. If confiscating someone else's belongings must be guaranteed not to be lost and remain intact, Octovio advises.

The Head of the Quarantine Department, Izaldes Santana, only apologized to eight traders who had been forced to sleep only on the ground to keep the roosters held for 10 days.

"I apologize, if for two weeks you only slept on the ground to look after the roosters, but I believe that we have done nothing wrong to you all along with us here."

Until now, both the Customs and Quarantine still continue to believe the photo of Octoviano Elo merchant that was taken in Atambua, Indonesia, even though it was openly stated that the photo was taken at Iwao Kitahara Port in Mahata, Oe-Kusi Ambeno.

The manipulation of information and photo manipulation sacrificed many people, especially traders from Oe-Kusi Ambeno and other municipalities in the national territory.

For this reason, Octoviano recommends competent institutions to take action against Customs officers who manipulate information and photos to Customs officers at the national level through social media (WhatsApp) before they sail from Oe-Kusi to Dili. (Oe-Kusi Post Team)
