DILI (TOP) – The results of the meeting of Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão with members of the government, commonly called the meeting of the Council of Ministers held every Wednesday, have taken some decisions on the fate of an Executive Commission in Oe-Kusi Ambeno.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, approved the draft Government Resolution on the fourth amendment to Government Resolution n. 7/2024, dated 24 January, on the Creation of the Executive Committee with the objective of establishing the Special Economic Zone for Development in Oe-Kusi Ambeno (ZEEDOA).
“With this amendment, the mandate of the Executive Commission is extended for a period of four months. During this period, all recruitment of new civil servants, technicians and advisors is prohibited, both for the administrative body of the Oe-Kusi Ambeno Special Administrative Region (RAEOA) and the ZEEDOA Committee,” content of the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.
The decision also states that the Presidency of the Council of Ministers must prepare the technical and legal documents necessary for the creation of a new functional structure in the RAEOA, which is almost identical to the municipal regime adopted in other administrative divisions of the country, where Atoni (Oe-Kusi Ambeno) can assume administrative responsibility and management of the economy of the region.
