The CNRT Government Member Has Not Decided Resignation

Oekusipost.com Dili - The CNRT party has not yet decided on a political statement regarding Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak's wishes and plans to reshuffle his cabinet structure, but CNRT plans to hold a national political commission level meeting to answer this in the near future.

Xanana also said that Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak had decided to call others from the FRETILIN party to complete the vacuum of the actual government structure from 2018 to the present, because the President of the Republic Francisco Guterres Lú Olo refused to install on the grounds that they have a criminal case in the court, but the court itself has declared that these people did not have any particular criminal cases.

"Because today we are concentrating here, we will call the National Political Commission to hold a meeting to discuss the reshuffle that will happen in the government, how the CNRT statement towards CNRT members within the government structure," Xanana stated through a press conference today in Dili.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM), Taur Matan Ruak has decided to complete the government structure by involving members of the FRETILIN and PD parties to guarantee the government's mandate until 2023.

"The government wants to equip members of the government in the near future," PM Taur told reporters at the Presidential Palace, Dili Thursday, April 30, 2020.

PM Taur explained that his party would not kick out the government member from CNRT party, but only wanted to complete the government structure that had been empty for almost three years.

"It only equips members of the government. As you all know, at the time of the inauguration, nine members were not appointed," PM Taur explained.

According to him, it would still retain members of the government from the CNRT party.

"Yesterday I had talked with them that, the politics we maintain is inclusive politics, so I am happy to work with them for more than a year and they continue to work, but it depends on them," he explained and added if government members from the CNRT wanted to resign , then he will replace them with others.

"If a member of the government from the CNRT party withdraws, I will fill it with the others."

There were 9 government members from the CNRT party, 3 ministers and 6 others who were deputy ministers and state secretaries. They are the Chief Minister of the Council of Ministers Hermenegildo Augusto Cabral Pereira, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Dionísio da Costa Babo Soares, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Dulce de Jesus Soares, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of Finance Sara Lobo Brites, Deputy Minister and Provisional Minister Public Administration Abílio José Caetano, State Secretary for Cooperative Affairs Arsénio Pereira da Silva, State Secretary for Youth and Sports Nélio Isaac Sarmento, State Secretary for Art and Culture Teófilo Caldas and State Secretary for National Veterans Affairs Gil Da Costa Monteiro "Oan Soru".
