DILI (TOP) - The President of the Republic, J. Ramos-Horta, officially inaugurated the "Café Atsabe" coffee shop this Sunday, located in the Cristo Rei area of Dili.
On the occasion, the Head of State congratulated Mariano Alves, known as Ameta, and his team for their commitment and dedication in establishing Café Atsabe, highlighting the initiative's importance for strengthening the private sector, energizing the national economy, and promoting tourism in Timor-Leste.
President Ramos-Horta also expressed his appreciation to the Government, especially to Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, as well as to the Ministry of Public Works and other relevant ministries, for the decision to grant the restaurant space in Cristo Rei to Café Atsabe. This measure serves as compensation for the loss of the space previously occupied by the establishment on the bank of the Comoro river, which was demolished a few months ago.
Kafé Atsabe includes many communities previously demolished by the Government with the reason to widen the road, and also prevent them from becoming victims of flooding when the river goes down.
