Isabel dos Santos's passport was falsified

DILI (TOP) - Angolan Billionaire Passport, Isabel dos Santos has been falsified and she asked for a corruption case against her to be revoked.

She accused Angolan authorities of using fake documents including fake passports to ask the court to confiscate her assets.

According to press release documents sent to The Oekusi Post (TOP) that, Angolan authorities seized the dos Santos account and her husband Sindika Dokolo late last year on charges that they were directing $ 1 billion in state funds to companies where they held shares during his father's presidency Jose Eduardo dos Santos, who ruled for 38 years until 2017.

In February, Portuguese prosecutors followed him, freezing Isabel dos Santos's assets in the country, which was Angola's colonial ruler until independence in 1975. She and Dokolo denied making mistakes.

Dos Santos, 47, whose whereabouts are unknown, said her lawyer had found a fake passport in her name last month when he was given access to Luanda's court files about the asset freeze for the first time.

The passport was in English, the passport number was quoted differently at the two locations on the document and the signature of the Kung Fu star Bruce Lee, who died in 1973.

"The Angola Public Prosecutor's Office presents evidence of fabricated and fabricated evidence. This court decision must be declared as an abuse of the process and the ruling is ruled out, "dos Santos said in an English-language statement sent to The Oekusi Post, Wednesday May 13, 2020. "Passport forgery is clearly visible at first glance. However, whether by default or design, at least four Angolan authorities facilitate the fraud process," she said.

Angola has named dos Santos as a suspect for alleged mismanagement and misappropriation of funds when he became chairman of the state oil company Sonangol in 2016-2017.

Angola's chief prosecutor said in January that an international arrest warrant for dos Santos could be issued if she did not appear to cooperate with the investigation.

Dos Santos, whose father is José Eduardo dos Santos, former Angolan president, and who is said to be the richest woman in Africa, accused prosecutors of "fraudulent use of the Angolan justice system" to confiscate company assets and appeal to Portuguese authorities, who had cooperated with Angola and made several assets seizures in Portugal, to reassess its position "in view of these and others who will follow" regarding the actions of the Angolan authorities.

The REUTER news agency reported that neither Angolan nor Portuguese prosecutors responded to requests for comment.

The Luandan Provincial Court in Angola could not be contacted to confirm or comment on the impact that would have on the freezing of assets if the documents cited by Santos proved to be made and were part of a file against it.
