The Minister of Tourism and Culture will continue to develop tourism going forward

DILI (TOP) - The Vise – Prime Minister of Timor-Leste and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Dato' Sri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay stated that he would continue to strive to develop the tourism sector going forward in order to be able to contribute to the country's economy.

The Vise – Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the eighth government, especially the ministry of tourism for what had been built during their mandate.

The Vise – Prime Minister of Timor-Leste and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Dato' Sri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay with the former Minister of Touriam, José Lucas do Carmo in CCD.

"As Timorese, we are all ready to serve this country sincerely, therefore we will continue to do the good work that you are doing and what is not good, we will complement each other," Vise-Prime Minister said at a farewell ceremony with former Minister of Tourism, José Lucas do Carmo at the Centro Convenção Dili (CCD), Monday 3 July 2023.

"We will continue to count your contribution both inside and outside the government," he said.

He added, during the Covid-19 pandemic it had brought a major disaster in economic growth not only in Timor-Leste but throughout the world.

"Especially in the tourism sector, now there has started to develop a bit."

The Minister of Tourism is also aware that this government will work even harder because there is still a lot of work ahead on ASEAN matters. And will also work harder to fulfill the promises made during the parliamentary campaign period.

The Vise – Prime Minister of Timor-Leste and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Dato' Sri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay with the former Minister of Trade, Industry and Environment, Joaquim Amaral in the government palace.

The farewell event that was held last Monday 3 July was with the former Minister of Trade, Industry and Environment, Joaquim Amaral at the Palácio do Governo. And the farewell with the former Secretary of State for the Environment, Deometrio Amaral took place at the Acait Building, Dili.
